What's going on...? Mira thought with her brows furrowed, holding onto a hot cup of something unidentified. The substance inside of the mug was a strange sparkly liquid, which she didn't trust… What if it turned her into some kind of weird creature? Something much like the creatures sitting in front of her.

Fahron, the so-called Angel. He didn't really look like he fell from heaven – sad blue eyes, dark unbelievably messy hair, and a black, bland, outfit. Aren't angels supposed to be pale, with white hair and white wings? Aren't they supposed to beautiful…? God's creation, right?

Mira wasn't sure where God came into any of this. Nothing was right.

Then there was Fahron's friend… Mira had no words for him. His name was Ver and he was even stranger than the angel. He had hair all over his small body, yellow hair – not blonde hair. Yellow. It was… fur, more of, and his clothes were layers and layers of baggy pants and shirts. Where Mira came from, a place called Earth, there was no such thing as people with fuzzy fur.

"What do you think our next move should be?" Fahron asked, bringing Mira out of her daze.

Mira set her mug down carefully, sighing with a shrug. "I… I don't know. What are we really expected to do? I'm worthless here – I mean, I'm not some animal with a fin, or wings or fur or any 'magical' abilities."

"Come on," Fahron countered, "Mira, please. We're not animals." His eyes searched the ground, muscles tensing. "Humans are not what any of us would consider worthless. If I thought you weren't worth anything, then I wouldn't have brought you here, right?"

Mira averted her hazel eyes away from Fahron, shaking her head. "You do know… I never asked for you to bring me here. I'd rather be at home, with my parents, with my friends, away from… away from someone who has psycho attacks regularly that makes him want to kill me!"

Mira glanced up at Fahron, and hurt was prominently reflected in his eyes, but Mira didn't care, she was too confused, upset, lost… and she was too scared. Ver struggled to patch up what Mira had just said, "Come on guys," he reasoned. "We're all just tired, right? We should get a good night of sleep, and talk about this later."

Mira got to her feet, brushing her brown braid behind her back with a glare at Ver. "Okay, fine. I'm going to sleep, away from you two." She ripped out her braid, letting her brown hair fall over her shoulders. Without even looking behind her, she walked into the guest bedroom, and slammed the door behind her.

*~*~*~*

She couldn't waste time. Fahron and Ver were sleeping, and she had to get out of that place as fast as she could.

Mira knew it was wrong. Abandoning them in a time that they needed her… but she wanted to go home… see her family, see her friends again… she didn't want to be caught between violence, adventure, and nightmares. This life, she thought, wasn't meant for her. And Fahron had no right to do this to her.

She silently crept out the house, holding onto something in her hand tightly. She had to go somewhere where no one could find her, so she wasn't seen when she left. She wanted it to be quiet and quick with no one to try to make her feel bad about her decision.

As her feet padded the ground, she began to notice something, a little noise behind her. Glancing back, there was nothing. She continued on… and so did the sound. Nervous and anxious, she began to run through the town on the slippery snow, and eventually she was sprinting as fast as she could. After not even a minute, she felt something take her arm and she fell back in the snow on top of someone.

She rolled over to the ground, getting to her feet unsteadily. One look at the person, and she knew who it was.

"Fahron," she muttered, shaking her head.

He groaned, getting up unsteadily. "What are you doing?" he mumbled. "Where are you going?"

She bit her lip. "F-Fahron, just let me go. Please."

"M-Mira," he stammered. "Don't you do this to me. I won't let anything hurt you, I swear-"

"Stop," she interrupted. "You're wrong. Because in the end, you will be the person to hurt me. Not anyone else. You."

"I'm sorry, I… I can't help it-"

"Well that's exactly it! You can't help it- I can't trust you. Fahron, thank you for saving me. But… I don't owe you anything anymore. You took me away from my friends, my family, the things I cared most about. And as much as I wish I could help you… I can't."

Her small hands fumbled with the small tearstone gripped in her hand, the other hand pulling out the feather. She pressed them together, closing her eyes, pressing her mind – Earth, Earth, Earth…

A few tears slipped out of her eyes as Fahron struggled to break her out of it, and suddenly…

Nothing.

She opened her eyes, and found herself at the doorstep of a house… her house. She didn't know how she got there, somehow her cheeks were wet with glistening tears, a boy's voice echoed in her mind, but she was unsure whose voice it was.

All that mattered was she was home.
This is request for *Laeneris and these are her OCs that I'm writing about. This doesn't actually happen in her book... it's like what would happen if this happened kind of story. It sorta happens in her book but Mira never ends up leaving soooo...

I'm glad you like it, Lizzy! If you have any questions just ask her, I'm sure she'd love to fill you in :)
